"We don't use the SDK" is what most lenders say right before the inventory finds a dozen dependencies. If any of these exist in your instance, you have migration work:
SDK plugins & Smart Client customizations
Legacy .NET plugins that automate underwriting tasks, field logic, and workflow steps. These are rebuilt as Developer Connect API services or as JavaScript web plugins on the ICE Scripting Framework — same behavior, modern platform.
Custom input forms with SDK code-behind
Desktop forms keep rendering in Encompass Desktop, but any SDK-backed form logic is on the clock — and moving to Encompass Web means recreating forms in the Web Input Form Builder anyway. One inventory covers both.
Legacy service ordering
Appraisal, title, flood, VOE and other vendor orders on legacy integrations move to Encompass Partner Connect (EPC). We handle the EPC transition end-to-end, including vendor coordination.
Batch jobs & back-office automation
Nightly SDK jobs that sync loans to data warehouses, CRMs, or servicing systems get rebuilt on Developer Connect with webhooks — typically faster and more reliable than the polling they replace.

Common questions
When does the Encompass SDK actually stop working?
ICE Mortgage Technology extended the SDK and legacy service ordering transition deadline to December 31, 2026 (announced August 2025). The SDK has been feature-frozen since November 1, 2025 — maintenance only. After the deadline, continued SDK access requires special approval from ICE and carries monthly fees that begin accruing January 1, 2027. Practically: every SDK dependency needs a migration plan now, not next year.
What replaces the Encompass SDK?
Two things. The Encompass Developer Connect APIs (REST) replace SDK-based data access and automation, and Encompass Partner Connect (EPC) replaces legacy service ordering — the old vendor integrations for appraisal, title, flood, and similar services. Custom desktop input forms move to web-based input forms in Encompass Web.
Can we just pay the transitional access fees and keep running the SDK?
You can apply for transitional access, but it requires ICE approval, adds recurring monthly fees, and buys you time on a platform that stopped getting new features in November 2025. It is a bridge, not a strategy — and the longer you wait, the more you compete with every other lender for scarce migration engineering capacity.
How much does an SDK migration cost?
It depends entirely on your inventory: how many plugins, custom input forms, business-rule automations, and service-ordering integrations you run. Will our loan pipeline go down during the migration?
